ST1 rotations:
Trainees spend 60% of the year at RLUH and 40% at Whiston , excluding block teaching weeks and induction period. |

| Training programme for ST1’s:
The ST1 year includes an induction (approximately 2 weeks), an introduction to autopsy practice (1-2 weeks), 3 block teaching weeks (including the national Bristol block teaching) and 3 weeks gynae cytology training delivered at the Manchester Cytology Training Centre. The remainder of the time is spent on the trainee rota at RLUH/Whiston. ST teaching takes places on Monday afternoon and is a combination of regional and local delivery and general (all trainees) and ST1 specific sessions. |
