Six month of training during ST2 or ST3 might be undertaken at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. |
Training programme for ST1’s:The training is a based on a specialty rotation apprenticeship model with a local weekly teaching programme, including histopathology and cytology circuses and informal seminars. In addition, our ST1s attend Scotland-wide teaching*, including:-
Introductory block teaching, Glasgow – one week in August Introduction to cervical cytology, Edinburgh – one week in September Scottish Histopathologists in Training symposium, rotates between 4 Scottish training centres – 2 days in November Neuropathology training course for stage A & B trainees, Edinburgh – two weeks in late November/early December, alternate years Paediatric pathology course for stage A & B trainees, Glasgow – December Non-gynaecological cytology course, Aberdeen – 2 days in February/March ST 1 Revision course including mock stage A exam, Edinburgh – 2 weeks in February/March Neuropathology training course for ST1 & ST2, hosted by Edinburgh – two weeks in late November/early December. Alternative years. Non Gynaecological cytology course, hosted by Aberdeen- 2 days in February/March. ST1 Revision course, hosted by Edinburgh – 2 weeks in February/March. *Please note that courses and dates are subject to change. |
