In addition to a model of clinical apprenticeship training, there are opportunities to participate in the departmental teaching activities, including:

  • A “blackbox” session on current and difficult cases in Surgical Pathology, held weekly
  • Cellular Pathology Course, held fortnightly during term time
  • Annual audit presentation meeting
ST1s also have the opportunity to attend three block-teaching weeks during the first year. One of these teaching weeks is held in Southampton (June) and the other two in Bristol (September) and Oxford/Wycombe (February).
