Yorkshire and the Humber Training School (Sheffield and Leeds)

Yorkshire and the Humber is divided into two training schools based in Leeds and Sheffield respectively. After ST1, trainees stay around either Sheffield or Leeds as each centre has its own placements in district general hospitals. There is flexibility within the programme for trainees to undertake a placement in either training school in later years of training. There are 15 joint teaching sessions over the course of each year; the content is focussed around the FRCPath examination. These are delivered by video conference and use digital pathology to share slide seminars and lectures.

FRCPath teaching days (5 per term)

For the first year of training, all trainees are based at St James University Hospital, Leeds.

ST2-5 rotations:

The ST2-5 trainees rotate to several other hospitals in the Yorkshire and Humber region. In addition to Leeds, these include attachments in Hull, York, Bradford, Harrogate, Mid Yorkshire (Wakefield & Dewsbury),and Calderdale (Halifax).
